Desert Meditation
If colorful flowers can dot arid landscapes, offering quiet beauty and cheer......
.......if slender-rooted, wind-whipped greenery clinging to hard flat rock can thrive, even crack the rock......
.......how much more shall we, made in the very image of God, move beyond mere dwelling, to beautiful, fruit-bearing, growth.

"I've heard your anguish, I've heard your hearts cry out.
We are tired, we are weary, but we aren't worn out.
Set down your chains, until only faith remains.
Set down your chains."

Beautiful, CALMING ponderings... which made me chuckle as I just came here from your comment on my last post...
You are very good for me.
And you are very good for me.
(I think I seek out the calm in a natural response to the inner fury, as a balance, for perspective, you know. Fury is pushy and assertive, calm is quiet and patient and for me has to be coaxed. We humans are so danged complicated!)
What beautiful, calming thoughts!
I needed that today, THANK YOU!
So glad the words were helpful to you today, tshs. You are more than welcome!
Just what I needed today, too! Thanks, Cherie!!!!!!
Oh good, Annie! I'm glad.
Beautiful interesting pictures with a positive message. I love your blog!!!
Set down your chains... I'm trying very hard to do that. One of these days, eh?
Thanks, Katey B.!
Easier said than done right, Liz? Little by little, and hard work.
Nice post.
I don't like Jewel though.
cherie,
had never encountered Jewel but went online and listened. some of her lyrics are amazing. Have now bought Spirit album. Thank you for introducing me!!
You're welcome, Liz. My son introduced me to her music several years ago, and I have just recently given it my ear again. She does have some thoughtful lyrics, especially for someone so young. Glad you are finding her interesting as well.
