Hail the heav'n-born Prince of Peace!
Hail the Son of Righteousness!
Light and life to all He brings
Ris'n with healing in His wings
Mild He lays His glory by
Born that man no more may die
Born to raise the sons of earth
Born to give them second birth
Hark! The herald angels sing
"Glory to the newborn King!"
It must have been awesomely terrifying for those shepherds, but what a moment, this invasion of God into the mortal realm! A turning point for all of mankind.
May the Truth of Jesus' birth - and purpose - reach out to you in new and deeper ways this Christmas and in the New Year to come.
Merry Christmas to All!

As a mother, Mary's role in the Christmas story always moves me the most.
"...and she took all these things and pondered them in her heart."
What a daunting task Mary had before her. Her pregnancy had been filled with trials. Then she had to raise a child that would always belong to mankind before he belonged to her. Not an easy task for such a young girl.
Hello Cherie, well it came and went, and now it's Happy New Year to you and yours;-)
Daunting task is right, tshs. And we wonder what would we have done in her place. Sobering.
Sean, yep, we switch gears pretty quickly don't we. Though I have to say, I'm still in Christmas afterglow. The unwrapped gifts are still under the tree, and there are a few more Christmas cookies left in the freezer. And in my heart it's still Christmas. We'll let her depart slowly. But Happy New Year to you, too! I'll get there soon.
