Sweet September

Parsley, oregano, basil, chives, and a few cherry tomatoes fresh picked at six A.M. This herb batch will be naturally dried.

Yogurt machine faithfully finishing up a batch started last evening.

Another basketful of red, ripe tomatoes fresh picked.

Plums plucked from our neighbor's organic tree yesterday...

...the first batch of which slowly dry in our steady dehydrator, giving up the familiar aroma of September. Italian Prunes!

It all just makes me happy.

Thanks, gals. It really is the little things in life that give off big dividends, isn't it.

You remind me of my days on the farm in Othello. Always felt to virtuous when I was doing all those good things!! Miss those times and am enjoying them again through your blog. Love you all. AJ & UF

I gave up on gardening this summer when it was the middle of June and still freezing at night. Everybody says that their gardens will turn out great...IF it doesn't freeze until November...not likely. :(

Don't you just LOVE your dehydrator?! I really miss my dried tomatoes all winter! I even make yogurt in my dehydrator.

I just had some pesto with pasta and local corn on the cob and you still made my mouth water. So sweet are the fruits we grow. Cherie, I'm coming to your house this winter to have some of that summer fruit!
