Sweet Sunshine

Sweet, juicy, fresh corn! Labor Day was devoted to the preservation of bunches of this favorite garden vegetable.

Photos of the process here.

This week is our last week before school begins and we are savoring every moment. Looking forward to the school year, looking back at a refreshing summer. It's a good in-between we are living these days.

I'm going to buy myself a couple of cobs today, since it's in the stores in abundance right now!

The corn looks wonderful - did you grow it? It looks so perfect...

It really is pretty corn, Gardenia. Wish I could take the credit for it but my little garden spot is waaaay too small. We picked it at a local farm near our home. We made right pigs of ourselves after we got all we wanted in the freezer. Snort snort...pass the corn!

It's just BETTER fresh picked. Why is that?

IMO, fresh corn on the cob is the BEST part of summer!

I had another cob tonight. Not as sweet as last night's, but still very good.
