For Fun

Thanks, Wandering Coyote, for the link to this. It was amusing.

A teeny-tiny, illusory ego-boost at the end of a long school year.

Even used the Pythagorean Theorem, which Cassie and I reviewed a few weeks back.

You Are Not Stupid

You got 10/10 questions right!
While acing this quiz doesn't prove you're a genius, you're at least pretty darn smart.

Really, though, if 'acing' this quiz is construed as Pretty Darn Smart........sheesh. Who's in charge around here?

  1. Okay, Cherie, I confess I was called "a little stupid," as I scored 9 out of 10. Can you guess which one I missed?

  2. Don't feel bad, Ann. College-boy Joe missed one, as well. He missed the 'months' question, forgot February. You're awfully smart, so I am wondering which one you missed. Do you know?

    Fun, though, isn't it.

  4. i will not even tell you how "stupid" I was considered...it is embarrassing...and I plan on home schooling...looks like I'll be doing quite a bit of learning along with the girl...granted I don't feel too bad as I'm sure the ones I missed had to do with Math and I am completely math defunct. oh well...fun anyway!

  5. I was a little stupid...I misread 20 divided by 1/2, opps! And I was a math tutor for 8 years! Don't tell Deanna.

  6. I don't know whether the quiz reveals which question you missed, or not (I was so traumatized by getting one wrong that I quickly moved away from that site!), but I'm guessing I missed the triangle problem. Stupid geometry.

  7. Don't feel bad, Summer. I'm quite a bit 'smarter' now that I've been homeschooling for awhile. You learn as you go. Math and I have a 'keep your distance' relationship. When the kids have asked, "What will I EVER use this for?" my answer has always been, "Nothing! But you have to learn it anyway." Ha!

Elixer - don't tell Deanna.....oops, I think you just did. ;-) Hey, you have an excuse for misreading a problem. You are great with child.

Ann: Yes, I would have missed the geometry problem myself had I not just reviewed it with Cassie. Lucky me. You sound like my girls - "Stupid geometry." Made me laugh.

  8. I was not happy that this quiz contained math questions, and one of them geometry - the bane of my high school years (or one of them, at least). I maintain that I am very smart, despite the fact that I have math issues.

  9. You ARE very smart, WC, no doubt about that.

Look at the comments here, from highly intelligent people, all confessing their math issues.

    We Shall Overcome.....MATH!

  11. I'll abstain from the quiz, since some comments here may give me unfair advantages. (Or I'm chicken.)
    :o)

  15. I got 9/10 but my excuse is that I'm not American! I looked up Pythagoras theory, so got that one... but the capital of New York State? Are you sure it's not New York City????

  16. Good for you, Cecily! 9/10 for a non-American is fantastic! Resourceful, you are, to do your research ahead of time. (And, yes, sorry, I'm sure, it's not NYC. But good guess!)
