Together We Plant

Tom and I have been busy this weekend planting things in the front yard. Trees, flowers, shrubs. Working in rain and sun, our shoes caked with mud, our gloved hands wrapped around shovel handles, rakes, and hoes. Our backs burning by day's end. But it's worth it.

Three Himalayan White Barked Birch trees now grace our front yard. There are leaf buds ready to burst open with green leaves that will become bright yellow in the fall. One of nature's most striking sights, to me, is a white barked tree with golden leaves shimmering in cool autumn breezes. Lots to look forward to!

Color me green, pink, yellow, and any floral hue you can think of -- jealous! Our yard is finally snow free but we are not out of the woods yet for more winter outbursts. We are all so hungry to be outside but this is the winter that simply won't let go. Now I'm off to see your pics...

I hear tell that yours is not the only winter that will not let go. Soon, Pam, soon you'll be out with your fingers in the soil once again.

Gardening! How I love it. I'm off to join Pam in viewing your pictures. If the two here are any indication, we're in for a treat. The waterdroplet photo is amazing.

I agree with you on the trees - can't wait for the pics. Grandson and I gardened to - we put veggies right in with flowers - haven't put all the flowers in yet though....

Hi Sean! Made my day that a photo of mine 'does it for' you today. Thanks!

Gardenia: I've got my seed packets ready for more flowers and then veggies. Getting close! Isn't gardening a wonderful outlet and the rewards - terrific!
